November Tea. There was no tea in November, as fourteen of the members took a two day trip to
Branson, Missouri. On the first night, they went to see the Jim Stafford show. Hopefully, some pictures will be forthcoming that they took on the second day. Several were taken when everyone

August Tea, August 20, 2008. This tea was the 4th birthday celebration for "Roses" and the theme was Hawaii. We had several special guests for the birthday party. Ashton Snowden, Linda Dickey's granddaugher sang several songs. Bill Ward was in attendance and was inducted as the first honorary "Rose". Don Snyder, our webmaster was also present and was presented with several gift certificates for his work on our website. Also, Sonja Keith, editor of 501Life magazine was invited and gathered information for an upcoming article. Our guest speaker was Cheiree Webb, who talked about Hawaiian and Polonesian dance and demonstrated basic hula and hand movements. The article in the 08/31/2008 Log Cabin Democrat "Our Clubs" feature does a much better job of describing the setting and activities of this tea. Relay For Life, UCA, April 18, 2008. Hundreds of survivors, caregivers and supporters participated in the Relay for Life race at the University of Central Arkansas. A steak dinner was catered by Outback Steak House for survivors and their families. Today's THV on air personality Craig O'neal did a live shot during the 5 PM and 6 PM newscasts. Our own Suzie Hicks was interviewed by Craig. The first lap of the race was reserved for survivors. The second lap was completed by survivors and their caregivers. The rest of the relay was for any supporter that pledged to walk for the cause. There were many booths and tents selling donated items, with the proceeds going to Relay for Life. Later in the evening, a luminary was set up. Members of the public paid ten dollars to have a luminary entry "in memory of" a loved one that had passed on or one "in honor of" a survivor.
